Apply for Into Work grant

We pay grants for completed work experience for an individual on an approved further education course, and subsequent grant for three-months completed in direct employment where the work experience started on or after 1 September 2023 and three months direct employment has been completed by 30 November 2025.

Into Work grants have been discontinued for dates after the above; grant is not available for any work experience or employment dated after 30 November 2025.

Grant for three-months direct employment is only available where the individual has previously completed work experience, with the same employer, while on an approved further education course.

Before you start

You’ll need:

• The individual’s name, date of birth, National Insurance number, and dates of work experience and/or employment

• Evidence that you can upload with your application to support the work experience and/or three-months direct employment.

• Evidence of the work experience should be from the college or course provider

• Evidence of three-months direct employment should be in the form of PAYE records
